A documentary by Christopher Thomas following the creation and evolution of QUEER’D by Miles Kearley.
Filmed over ten days, the documentary follows Miles as he breaks the boundaries of the conventional creative process, fostering one that is rooted in care and humanity. Crafted in storytelling, human connection, and lived experience, his work explores the collective realities of navigating queerness and neurodiversity within a normative world.
Offering intimate access to both the rehearsal room and the life of the piece beyond its first presentation. This film captures not only how QUEER’D was made, but why it needed to be.

QUEER’D itself is a raw and poetic descent into the unconscious, a dance theatre odyssey in which six characters tumble through a surreal chain of moments.
Each scene unfolds like a dream within a dream, layered with clothed histories. Reality blurs. Belief awakens. Hands are shaken and identities are fractured, stolen, or reborn. Moving through absurdity, intimacy, rupture and repair, the performers journey toward something unfamiliar yet deeply known, rediscovering a wonder that was never led to happiness but something overwhelmingly joyous.
Visceral, cinematic and defiantly weird, QUEER’D invites you to step into what wouldn’t be and feel your way back to what’s always been.
