Boundless body: Unmasking The Process
Boundless Body: Unmasking the Process is a documentary capturing the making of Elizabeth Arifien’s multidisciplinary live performance Boundless Body. Filmed and edited by Christopher Thomas, the documentary explores eight core themes; Motherhood, Technology, Neurodivergence, Movement, Costume, Story, Conversations, and Performance.
At its heart, this project offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at a neurodivergent artist navigating the creative process, translating internal experiences into a sensory-rich, immersive performance. Through the use of movement sensors, real-time visuals and sound, the work transforms internal dialogue, emotional sensitivity, and embodied memory into an ethereal, live art experience. Improvised soundscapes made from Elizabeth's vocals, effects, and guitar merge with choreography, costume, and tech to invite audiences into a visceral world beyond words.
Boundless Body offers a space for neurodivergent expression and connection, stepping away from the noise of the neurotypical world to honour difference, process, and presence.
